@damnsonson In Germany displacement is always measured by tenths which means that an engine with 6.208 cc is a 6.3 liter engine vs. a 6.199 a 6.2 liter engine. And getplaning is correct, the 6.3. is sort of a brand for amg engines, thats why the latest engines with 5.5 liter twinturbos are also labelled 6.3 such as the ML 63, E 63 etc

@damnsonson 6.3 is an homage to the old 6.3 litre fuel injected V-8 engine that came out in the late 60's / early 70's. It was used in the 600 Limo and the 300SEL6.3 and was the first engine modified by AMG for racing in the European Touring Car Championship. The engine had Bosch mechanical fuel injection and a tuned intake and also cast iron exhaust headers.
