I've been trying and failing to get this up in stereo and as a result the vocal is pretty drowned out. Acoustic demo of a new song for my band The Candy Twins. I think it will work well with our prospective new backing vocalist/violinist.

PIECES OF PAPER

I've got a bone to pick and
I'll strip it bare
Why can't you get over it? All that
time it's still there

Do you remember my name?
Do you remember the feel of this?
I was part of your party game
What sealed it for me was your pretty kiss

Is she glad that she found those pieces of paper
Does it make her feel good inside
Does she like what's written on those pieces of paper
Numbers and names to hide

Pieces of Paper, Pieces of Paper etc.

Where do we go from here
I've no idea. I'd
surmise you're with someone else. But
I can't raise a tear

Do you remember my name?
Do you remember the feel of this?
I was part of your party game
What sealed it for me was your pretty kiss

Is she glad that she found those pieces of paper
Does it make her feel good inside
Does she like what's written on those pieces of paper
Numbers and names to hide

Pieces of Paper, Pieces of Paper etc

  • Great song again David. I love the riff, very catchy and I'm starting to add the string section in (in my head as I listen!) so I do hope you manage to get Willow to join your band!

  • Cheers Mat - yes some screaming violin would top it off nicely. Best, David

  • Them bones... Missing secret strummer! Smiles to you my friend~

  • Wow this song is so claming. Solid effort man, the chorus needs to be cleaned up but I think I see an unpolished gem in this song. Best of luck.

  • This is a catchy, happy tune, and I love the chorus. The acoustic guitars sound great together.I'm obviously no music critic but you guys are definitely on the right track.Nice one!

  • Hi there. I just played the same thing on the same guitar ... or tried to. I lose it a bit on the riff later on. For some reason my Ovation gets a nice valvey sound played into the computer - always sounds tinnier live.

  • Thanks.

  • Yes think it has promise. Worked well with the drummer. Many thanks Ralph!

  • i've taken up dominoes, less trouble (mind you, i've seen a few serious dominoe arguments too:)
