People, don't use chanells for stringers. This is not neccesarry. For example I have found many times 300x100 chanell for stairs with 12 risers only - you can use 200x10 flatbar - its plenty ! In generall chanells are much much heavier than flats. Its completly ok from structural point of view to use 150x10 flat for stairs less than 6 risers. for stairs upto 13 risers - 200x10 and upto 16 risers 200x12/15.
