Starting at 10:29 Cook flat out LIES! Peter never acknowledged Paul's letters as scripture and Paul never acknowledged Peter's letters as scripture. James and Peter actually goes against Paul. Mark was not a Disciple and neither was Luke. Mark and Luke were not eye witnesses they never saw Jesus. Matthew and John are the only two of the 4 gospels that were disciples. This is why Christianity is a Joke.

I listen to Cook often. He's a fascinating mix of gross ignorance and unwarranted arrogance, which results in lots of unintentional humor. His "debates" with illiterate atheists and agnostic drop outs (particularly when they're very young) are fantastic. I can almost hear him puffing out his chest as he "defeats" yet another opponent. I think it's great that we live in country where a non-entity like cook can become a pastor and appoint himself a "pre suppositionalist". Good fun. He's harmless.

Your logic is that because the established authority has put it in a text book, that it's infoulable. I started having a problem with what I was taught in school when I got out of school and did independent research. You need to look at the people who gave you the bible and where they went before they recieved these "revelations" from GOD. And if GOD really gave these people these words, How come the ones in control of the text were muderers, rapist, sexist, theives, adulterers, etc ?

This pastor is an historcal moron. The Council of Nicea has been acknowledge by Theologians of many religions and Confirmed by the "Christian" Romans themselves. That info was out way before the Da Vinci Code.

"The slavery of the old testament is completely different than the slavery we experienced in America." Huh?
Exodus 21:20-21
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
Leviticus 25:44-46
...And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever.

Which intermediate. There is LOADS of them. You need to be more specific.
No one has a problem believing the history that we have been taught about our nation so why is it so hard to believe in a book that has been around for more than 2,000 years when our history books in school have been around for less time than that.

I don't believe a lot of what I was taught in public schools, so I disagree with your premise.

The criteria the church used for putting together the bible were as follows:
1) Was the book written by a prophet of God?
2) Was the writer authenticated by miracles to confirm his message?
3) Does the book tell the truth about God, with no falsehood or contradiction?
4) Does the book evince a divine capacity to transform lives?
5) Was the book accepted as God's Word by the people to whom it was first delivered?

All of which, of course, is relative. That's why the Book of Revelation wasn't accepted until later.

Those books were dismissed because they were not credible and false, point blank. The book of Mary states that Jesus had a wife and kids which totally contradicts what was written in the Old and New testaments.

So when was it written that Jesus DIDN'T have wife or children? If it's not there, there is no contradiction, and it's just new information added to the Jesus tale.
