**Please LIKE/FAVE/SHARE** Check out the feeding frenzy which occurs when a giant sea of amazing Lorikeets congregate together for one epic meal!

The Rainbow Lorikeet is a species of parrot found in Australia as well as several other places including Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Eastern Indonesia, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

The Rainbow Lorikeet is a parrot of medium size with a wing span of approximately 17cm (the equivalent of 6.7 inches). The actual length/size of the Rainbow Lorikeet ranges from 25 to 30cm (the equivalent of 9.8 to11.8 inches).

Rainbow Lorikeets feed primarily on nectar, pollen and fruit. To cater for the specific needs of their diet, Rainbow Lorikeets have a papillate appendage equppied to the end of their tongue to allow them to collect nectar from flowers.

  • They are so many of them!

    Are you there owner?

  • @pinkbarbieloo ...couldn't believe my eyes when i saw so many rainbow lorikeets appear at once! Epic meal time! I am not the owner of these lovely ones, they all reside freely in a nature park.

  • @FluffyJetProductions Its nice that there all free, doing whatever they want.

  • @pinkbarbieloo ...absolutely, it is beautiful to see them free in the wild, out in the open, living happily :)

  • I live in Queensland Australia and see these pretty but noisy birds daily.

  • @holmsatlarge hi Carol, cool...must be a lovely place...yes currently residing in Australia. Lots of beautiful wildlife here, that's for sure!

  • @FluffyJetProductions It is a nice city. I have lived in East end Toronto all of my 60 years! Do you live in Australia? What an incredible country it is. The wildlife is fabulous for us animal lovers and especially us bird lovers. Carol in Toronto.

  • i have one :), i dont know if its a male or female though.

  • For those thinking of getting a lori as a pet, keep in mind a few things.

1: They are a very messy bird (lots of runny poops), and as such have pretty high maintenance for hygiene.

2: They can be very loud

3: They can be very attached (not wanting to leave you).

They are a great pet but be aware what you're getting into before getting one.

  • wow! so cool! I'm hoping to get a Rainbow lorikeet at christmas....CAN'T WAIT!!

  • should we have been listening to the birds and not somebody playing the bloody piano !!!!!!

  • what are you feeding them?
