Good job. - Way to go. Mind you, It's never easy but Mr Jones has twin Yamahas AND a bow thruster AND no wind. .. Now try it with cross wind and just a single engine!.

Not a big deal with twin outboards and bow thrusters. If he had screwed up, then that would be worthy of the posted video, otherwise, it was a walk in the park.

Try doing that with a single screw.

I can see how you might misinterpret the wash but I don't understand how you cannot hear the bow thruster, the sound is very audible. The symbol is a white three bladed prop on the hull below the fenders.

Do a youtube search for "Kingfisher 3325" then click on the 3rd video down and you can see the light shine through the bow thruster tunnel at 00:28 as the boat passes the camera.

(I am unable to post the web link here)

I must disagree. There is no wash from a bow-thruster, but wash from the main props going past the hull. The symbol for it on the hull? What symbol? Hear it? I don't hear anything that makes me think of bow thruster. Why would such a small boat have one, anyway?

Yes this boat does have a bow thruster. You can see the symbol for it on the hull, you can hear it, and see the wash from it. If you look at other videos of this boat you can see the tunnel as the boat planes past the camera.

Perhap you were not, as others, saying that his piloting skills were dubious, but only pointing out that the video was hardly accurate in saying that it was "extreme." I, meanwhile, was rightly pointing out that the pilot's skills were good, from much practice, and you get that from going out there regularly and honing those skills, not watching videos & thinking you know something, like so many posers. You're right about skills being low in many. Good luck in your career.

People get this funny idea that they're a professional boat driver because they have a boat license (very easy to obtain where I am from, my instructor/tester had never failed a single person) and take their boat out a couple of times a year. So I really do understand you frustration with some of these comments.

I know the sad reality is most cannot. We have customers come in who when you're trying to go over the instructions and controls for the boat will stop you mid sentence and say 'I'm good, I've got a boat license!" and when you say I just have to go over it for legal reasons they get pissy because they think they know everything... 60% of people who say this really struggle to dock the boat and 20% flat out smash into the jetty.

It is not criticism of his driving skills, I think I knew what the intent of the comment was because I wrote the message. Thank you for being more civil about it though :), I do agree with you about people saying this is a walk in the park and 'a baby could do this'. We also sell fuel at my place of work and the amount of people in boats that cost $100,000 who can't even park on the front of the jetty is astounding. I just personally think if you have a boat you should be able to do what he did.
