Tutorial: How to make The Cataracs' style Saw Bass

I realized how to make this synth really quickly and easily a while back, so I figured, even if it isn't as big or popular of a sound, it's a good one to have in the arsenal. Peace.

FL10.Vwhatever haha. I had the first version of FL10 and it had a ton of problems, but I updated about 2 months ago and it is SO MUCH BETTER...it's all about the little bugs that were fixed.

Very nice job bro.  Quick Q for you. For the pitch bend in the second note of the second phrase, do you just piano roll a higher note and let the gate bend the note up and down? I tried but couldn't get it to match yours =(.

It's just in the voicing, making it mono and then changing the portamento, all inside massive. Hope that helps!

Great tutorial. I have been trying to work out how to compose riffs like your example, but can't work it out. Do you automate the rate with an LFO to get that cool glitchy sound in your riff, or do you just play it as it sounds? Your help would be hugely appreciated.

This was all done with one synth just in Piano roll. Only thing i automated was the volume for the pumping effect.
