My Dear Donald,
How wonderful to hear your inimitable voice again after so many years! I wept, happy to hear it; it was a testament beyond oath, telling more than affidavit can how it is possible for a man to bring his love and suffering back into the song that is poetry --the song that helps to see us through.
My heart, my imperfect gelatinous, and far too sentimental heart, remembers you.
