Constantine and the Christianisation of the Roman Empire. Beginning with the battle of the Milvian Bridge and ending with the death of Fausta and Licinius, this edition shows how the Emperor Constantine brought Christianity to the western world. In AD 312, Rome was in crisis. The empire had been divided into four parts, each with its own emperor who fought one another. Constantine intervened and united Rome, using military might and a new religion - Christianity.

  • i love how people think Christianity is a religion LOL if people started understanding the concept or religion itself people would be able to isolate the factors that Christianity HAS NO PART IN IT, it is about Jesus who is the son of God our Father, who sent his only begotten son to die for all our sins and to LOVE us, its all about LOVE for one another, ourselves, and GOD alone through the Trinity, its a FAITH NOT a RELIGION!

  • @musicaddict333

sorry, but what you're describing is in fact a religion since the very construct of your ideology is based on a belief taken from dogma

Religion: "a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs"

  • @musicaddict333 Christianity borrowed many things from other religions, including the Roman imperial cult, hence deifying a man - Jesus, something unthinkable in Jewish religion. It may have started more like a cult rather than religion. But Constantine was a wise emperor and wanted to unite the territory under his rule - that would mean popularity among his subjects including the growing Christian community.

  • @strongsafety43 your god is dead just as surely as those ancient statues, at least their current followers have the grace not to drone on.

  • hmmmm moronic christians and overtly bitter ex-Christians aside, I wonder how constantine would react if he'd known that the absolutist nature of his religion would bring endless disunity, and disorder over trivial theological differances. I wonder if he would weep if he encountered the supposed imutable word of God's endless mutations to the point where he'd most likely have it's pontifex killed. Hindsight is always 20/20 I suppose.

  • A video about war and history and all you people talk about is religion?? sad sad people.

  • Can people please stop arguing and just watch?!
