I don't know the reason why the Tamil is better, maybe because AR Rahman's more comfortable singing in Tamil? Chimayee too?? The lyrics? or the language itself? IDK. but it's beautiful!! Some songs like Ae ajnabee / poongatrile from Dil se/uyire is also better in tamil, but thats because of the singer!

My Dad is Tamil and my mother is Hindi. I must say it is the only song I have ever heard that sounds so much better in tamil. Tere Bina lacks the soul of Aaruyire. The tamil version tugs at your heart strings more. And one more thing - One day I hope I can sing this song to the one I share my heart with.
