this is true...the Light in a teacher like David is the Divine...the personality continues to be relative...imperfect, etc. there is still some measure of personality and conditioning. if you forgive it, you get the Light directly. i didn't know this until now, which is humorous to me...how many teachers i idealized on the personality level...the Light is always there it seems...kind regards, jason

@mcgyver62 you say "he seems to also indicate".........I say with love, that if you are real about your spiritual path then making assumptions is not the best approach........have you listened to all Davids videos & read the interviews & book?.........he covers all that you question in your above comment about consciousness & the absolute and kundalini shakti.......he clarify's it all from a place of non-experience
bless

@Blufire48 Gratitude rises in recognition. It is true that personality (ego, the character on the stage) remains - it is consciousness (reality) in/as manifestation. When this is seen there is no confusion as to this point. It is a joy-full surprise in re-cognizing what was never ever gone or missing. Believing the idea that one isn't seeing this is all that retains the illusion of separation. And it is an illusion. Once seen, one begins to see the absurdity of separation. Namaste.

David, this is really great stuff! This is a teaching that is so needed by spiritual seekers. It also explains the great paradox of experiencing the overwhelming darshan of Brahman from some masters along with some their, at times, very culturally bound personalities.

JUST SAY :THEY ARE ONLY HUMAN AND HAVE SHADOW SIDES !!
never think the most high can be embodied 100^..........79% is just fine !! only fallable HUMANS that are realised also !!!
David offers a free weekly internet video broadcast at friendsofdavidspero (.org). All are warmly invited to join this global event. Namaste.

Did he say that the trans individual presense or ego is eternal? human teachers that can teach and express advaita do not say that they have irradicated the ego self, but that it can die with the body, there is only the devine which includes all expressions of itself, what is important is knowledge of the true or pure awareness for a human to remain untangled from the fruits of actions, for example,
Nisargadatta smokes and has a loud voice but seems not bothered at the same time too.

You are correct. He seems to also indicate that consciousness and the absolute are one and the same. I feel as though he's had a genuine awakening but far from the enlightenment that Maharaj spoke of. Also, Kundalini Shakti and esoteric experiences weren't of any importance in Maharaj's teachings as they were all in the experiential realm and had nothing whatsoever to do with enlightenment.

@mcgyver62: Yes, I used the terms "Consciousness" and "Absolute" in this video interchangeably. I was not attempting to work within Nisargadatta's linguistic framework or definitions. Namaste, David

@aghoranathi: First, I did not equate "Trans-Individual Presence" with ego, to answer your question. Second, going beyond ego & remaining there is (often) the confessed agenda of many "advaita teachers." "Witnessing" (then) becomes the path to transcend the ignorant, stubborn and self-willed ego, either by killing it, or learning to perpetually transcend it via "witnessing". It's not understood by these teachers that a personae continues to exist after Self-Realization. Namaste, David
