Hi, I created this patch to demonstrate and explore the modulation matrix. It is commonly over looked in the Micron. The FM amount is being modulated by LFO1 and the rate of LFO 1 is being modulated by Envelope 3. I

  • how do you create patches?

  • Start off by pushing the translucent scroll knob. You will then enter the edit mode and can scroll and edit the parameters.

  • oh, ha I thought you had made a program patch like through the computer I don't have one yet, but I will very soon within the next 2 weeks. Thanks

  • There are many cool shortcuts. They are in the beginning of the manual.

  • Alright. I was pretty unimpressed by the Micron presets when I got it home, but your videos are convincing me that I need to get into deep into sound synthesis. If there's any books anyone'd recommend, let me know. I've got Martin Russ' "Sound Synthesis and Sampling" in front of me now. I'm about to dig in.

  • no way, it doesn't sequence audio, it just sequences notes that only the micron and other midi equipment can understand

  • @yashnu That would've been nice, but no, no regrets. not entirely the micron's fault. I haven't been playing keys lately [aside from my 88 key, which is obviously ... larger].

  • @Sam111111 No regrets? You should have tried this: upgrading the OS, wiping out all presets, loading in the Akai Miniak presets, as they have a much better Drums/other parts balance in setup mode and better XYZ assignments.

  • @yashnu Lucky! I sold mine for $250 recently. :)

  • @Sam111111 Got mine for $100 used. The issue: a broken Control Knob as it was a first generation Micron. Fixed it with 2 hours, de-soldering and soldering patience as well as a $1.68 metal Bourns Encoder form Newark. shipping was around $15, so, all in all: $117 fully restored ;)

  • @droan999 Between $200 and $400 depending on a bunch of things [used, condition, luck, etc.]

  • how much is this model? thanks

  • @OrphanCity Goddamnit... Too bad this was 6 months ago or I would've just driven up there and picked it up...
