They're different, and I ever prefer Nils. Tom did it twice I think, and that was cool, but it was the same tricks. It was actually less exciting the second time because his "moves" were so similar. I don't know, Nils is a great fretman.

I just love seein Nils going all the way when he plays his solos

I think it's a Stratocaster Lite Ash from '61. I remember reading it in some Nils older interview.

what kind of guitar does nils use? its a strat, but what kind? and is it expensive? its hot!

Go Nils, just go-and maybe join up with Carlos for a little session of the best?
And maybe Little Steven could lay out the melody for you?

Now this is why you'd like to play in the E Street Band-the Boss encourages you and takes a delight in your creativity and success-compare to the ratty Mick Jagger who owes all his success to Keith.By the way,did Mick corner the Botox market?

NIIIILS!!! What a genius!

@TheMagikRat as a guitar technician i can say that he does in fact use several finger picks but he prefers a lot of fender thumb picks
-
@HellsHighwayTrooper Nils uses a thumb pick and uses his other fingers, fingerstyle. Super nice guy and super talented.

Funny you should ask. Search for the new YouTube video called
NILS LOFGREN GUITAR SOLO REDUX
You will see my video edited to the snake cam video by Fender.
It looks like he has a pick attached to his thumb.
