I completely disagree. I think the M3's sound tinny and generally unimpressive (though their output is impressive), while the VQ35 is IMO the sweetest-sounding 6-cylinder on the road. The 07-08 350z's (VQ35HR engine) give the E46 a run for it's money. It's actually a driver's race in that matchup, though the E46 has a decided advantage over the older VQ35DE Z's.

@hartsickdisciple i agree with you on the sound of both engines, but if you think 350z has the nicest sounding v6 engine, ure wrong my friend. check the vw r32 mk4, it will blow your mind... and m3 is faster than any 350z even the ones with 313hp, which are super fast!

Seems everyone just loves the M3. It's a great car but way overpriced! Also seems people talking s*** abot Japanese cars..let me put this into perspective..the majority of u can't afford an M3, probably not even a Mazda 3. And price wise, your gonna spend upwards of $70k for a new "sports"car that makes around 414hp? It's a V8. Whereas for just a bit more u can get a gtr that makes quite a few more horses, v6, and awd. So just stop with hating on jap cars. More bang for ur buck. Smart men drive

@blaziankhmer Considering how good the VQ35 sounds with open exhaust, I disagree. There's nothing artificial about it. The M is no more "pure" than any other car. Not to mention that the VQ35 was developed in 2001-2002, not 2007. The HR was developed in 2006, and only sounds slightly different from the regular VQ35. Why would we compare the VQ to a V8? That makes no sense.

@hartsickdisciple i own a 350z all it is, is drone noise. it's so artificial. the G,Z,FX they are all made to sound that way. where the M is more pure. you're comparing an engine made in 07 with an 01. your comparison are far off in lala land kid. lets just compare it to the E92 with 414hp then.

@MrFurryface I agree, M3 is a wonderful car but.... in germany 90% of the m3 drivers are dump kiddys, driving daddy´s car around. Thats the reason why everbody thinks of douchebags if someones saying BMW:
