@doomsk8er. Riggins had agility and the ability to run to his left side. Likewise, what you mentioned. Lot of the white fullbacks took hits that he didn't take because he just knew how to avoid that head on collision. Likewise, he knew how to avoid taking shots to his knees that all straight on big guys took. He mentioned that him and Jim Brown were the only guys that could run like a plow.

Yeah George Allen used him as a Fullback for a couple of years to. That's one reason why Riggo retired one year before coming back.

I hate how people white people can't play running back. While their might not be very many extremely quick Barry Sanders type white running backs their are probably a bunch of tough John Riggins runningbacks that get reduced to being a blocking full back or something else just cuz they're white. this is coming from a black person

John Riggins is the 2nd best power back in Pro Football History behind Jim Brown & a one of the top 10 characters in NFL history. Not a bad career.
