Moscow gays assaulted during kissing protest

http://www.euronews.com/ A small number of gay rights activists have staged a kissing protest outside the Russian parliament in opposition to a Kremlin bill, which will make "homosexual propaganda" illegal.
A gay kiss in public could result in a 12,000 euro fine, if the Duma votes in favour of legislation.

Elena Kostyuchenko is a gay rights campaigner and journalist with the newspaper Novaya Gazeta:
"The law absolutely does not define what 'gay propaganda' is, and the reasons are understandable because there is no gay propaganda."

What began as public kissing ended in public violence as the protesters came under attack from homophobic Muscovites:

"Moscow is not Sodom. We are here to support normal people, healthy people that want to create stable, Orthodox families and raise their children in the spirit of Orthodox traditions, brotherhood and popular unity," fumed one anti-gay man.

The government and the Orthodox Church see the bill as part of a move to promote traditional Russian values.

Gay activists were also attacked in the city of Voronezh on Sunday.

I think gays can kiss and express themselves on tv and don' know why someone can stop this. But, there are some gays thing protectors who wants more more more gays on the tv show. And all this because of this gay propaganda POLEMIC. There is no hetero polemic, why? We DONT want to see too much of sex, kissing hetero people, we don't want to see too much of violence. Yeah, we dont! It's not about gays, it's about normal media.

u know, i don't see any hetero group of people who fights for their freedom. they do what they want, but they DONT propogand for hetero sexual orientation. If u are gay, it's ok, go to the street with you boyfriend and kiss, no one can stop u. But why u want propagand this in mass media or organize gay parade?

By the way, i think all this bla bla bla about gays has soooo small priority. Worth of this question "may be or not gay propaganda" is near a zero. Why we don't discuss about USA war all over the world? Why we don't discuss some developed countries supply terrorists (and they call them "rebels") with weapons and help him, just because they don't see that particular leader of country (Syria)?

Because gays are fighting for their freedom. They are discriminated across the entire world and just recently things are becoming gay friendlier. Straights aren't discriminated when they kiss in public, when they show up on TV or when they express themselves. You can't compare these two. Is it hurting you when they show up at a parade? No.

And, i wanted to say: why we have a real democracy (unlike France, where the majority of people was against gay marriages), because if majority of people don't want to see gay parads, then we will not see. But, if gays want to make parade at home or in special place its ok

As far as i know it is NOT genetic. Human sexuality develops in pubescence period of life and in that time human can develope as a gay or hetero, it depends on situation.

Gay is a genetic thing, just like someone that is born with brown hair, blue eyes or whatever. What your country is basically doing is forbidding people to be open about who they trully are. Straights will always be the majority so that argument is lame as fuck. Gays aren't hurting others, nor do they effect anyone's day to day life and yet they are discriminated against. Your country disgusts me and it made a huge mistake. Imagine how these people feel. They have to lie about who they are 24/7.
