I always thought the "hey, play a song from my ipod" idea was kinda unrealistic, my first gig i ended up playing from the one persons iphone. i love the numark mixdeck, great video.

@thaatxboss - Also that you would need to buy an sub controller to control your softwares effects, be it timecode or midi. But the other options to me does out weight those negatives. Also Gemini has an all in one unit coming out soon called the CDMP 7000, there is one video on it here on youtube. But on google there is images of it. It looks pretty slick. But the Mixdeck Quad I do want for the simple fact of the now 4 deck control. That is what is taking up my intrest!

@thaatxboss - It's all good, I was in no ways bashing your comment or the NI Control S4 I am a Traktor dj so I like the unit. But the XLR thing is what put me off about it. Just like Pioneer with the DDJ T-1, I was so upset the Serato version has the XLR in/out but the Traktor one doesn't. The downside with the Mixdeck unit to me is the fact if you use Timecode, which I still use at times. You can't use the effects of the CDJ's over the timecode cd's....

@BBoyInferno2k3 Just checked out the Mixdeck Quad, and I agree that its a huge improvement from the original Mixdeck and definitely thinking of picking one up. :)

And the reason I brought up the S4 was to make a reference to another similar product others may not be familiar with.

Should have made that a bit clearer, so my mistake.

@thaatxboss - But the S4 although a good controller. It doesn't have balanced XLR in/outs which to me still puts this controller a little over. And the S4 isn't compatible with other Djing software. Plus with the Mixdeck Quad coming out....Alot of improvements have been made to this unit. And as well with the software. In my opinion, yea you would have to spend a little more to maybe have the extra features that you want. But the controller already does a lot more than the S4.
