The man makes an incredible point regarding monopsony. If the power grid could be completely free market, with some intelligent agent at each premises buying energy at the best price, at the best time, and for the best use—it would be a revolution.

Well, say what you will about Gore but be aware of the new study out of MIT

The most comprehensive modeling yet carried out on the likelihood of how much hotter the Earth's climate will get in this century shows that without rapid and massive action, the problem will be about twice as severe as previously estimated six years ago - and could be even worse than that.

I hate al gore and I think global warming is a total hoax but damn, selling my own green electricity is a really good idea. Imagine buying small windmills for $10-$20K each and putting them on your backyard, connecting to main power lines and selling energy that is not used by you.
