Here's a quick test of my Mini Colossal. Amp is set 100% power on the back. Master on the front is only set at 1. Tone is 9 and the tremolo is off. I start out on my H-S-H Ibanez Roadstar with FRED in bridge, stock blade single in middle and PAF Pro in neck. Position 4 to begin and the guitar volume around 6. Switches to position 2 and I increase the volume throughout. Finish off with full bridge humbucker at around 5 on guitar's volume and slowly increase that as I finish the clip. You can see how much gain this little amp has only set at 1.

  • Yeah, it is. Nice ear!

  • Sweet video. Sounds very good for YouTube. Is this through just the videocamera microphone?

  • Yep. Tried to keep the volume low enough not to clip the microphone.

  • this amp isnt really meant for high gain distortion huh? Im looking for a low volume tube amp with good saturation for my bedroom...doesnt seem like theyre many options out there without getting 60 plus watts

  • Actually, it's quite the opposite. I had to run the volume on the amp at about 1 and then my guitar volume on 6 to get it clean. It's not a metal amp, but I get excellent tube saturation at low volumes just with the amp on 5. I'll try and post a video response to show this.

  • You`re right it depends on what you need it for but this thing is listed with over 24 pounds weight, costs nearly 700$ in europe and sounds nothing like a jsx when miced or played live.

I´am not bashing on the jsx series in general because the bigger jsx are one of the best sounding amps out there.

  • Yeah, the Mini is definitely a vintage amp. The JSX head and 2x12 combo both sound amazing. Some of the best clean sounds I've heard. Enjoy it if you end up getting one.

  • @2:45 is it the Extreme song "There is no God" ?

  • @t1r12003 add a boss me 70 or satch arator into the clen and youll get a great sound aslo. :)

  • I own one of these amps and I love it. It gets pretty loud, too! And with a treble booster, you retain all the amp's tonal characteristics with lots of saturation and overtones. It has a lot of "touch," too.

  • @jpetrucci05 marshall class 5, blackstar ht-5, vox ac4tv, blackheart little giant, laney cub 8 & 10, bugera v5.

  • I was worried about the lack of an EQ when I bought my Mini-C, but I haven't missed it one bit. Also I'd say the 8 inch speaker holds up well even when the amp is cranked. I totally dig this amp!

  • Hey, this amp is awesome and at $300 its a steal. I got mine about a month ago at $500 and I'm still lovin' it.

  • search for blackheart killer ant, sub 1 watt all tube class A XD
