This is a short how-to video demonstrating how to get square corners on your papercrete building or any conventional or alternative construction. In the past I have favored an organic design with free form curved walls. For this new building project I am using a typical rectangular shape. The walls will be a hybrid method of papercrete block and slip form construction. So here is how I got my corners all at 90 degrees so they would be uniform and the forms can be slipped up as I go along.

This is the first of several videos I plan to do as I work on this project.

  • if you want my opinion ,I infinetly respect your wisdom,as well as enjoy the spectacular view of the location .if you want to cut down the wind nois for viewers try using a piece of cousion foam ofer the mic..i totaly wish i had some where to build a papercrete palace.truly insperational!!!!!

  • @bcdigit Thanks so much for the comment and the advice about the wind noise. I will keep it in mind. My problem is that I am so untechie. I have my little camera with the built in mike and that's what I use. If I had someone who knew how to use cameras and computers I could do a lot better job with these videos.

OK Universe, you have my order.

  • Could you just throw up a video of you sitting indoors, out of the wind, and sharing your knowledge?

  • Yes I suppose I could if that's what you want. Are you asking because you don't like having to listen to the wind in all my videos or because you genuinely want to hear some of my "wisdom"?

  • BOTH!

The wind is annoying and takes away from the beauty of what you're describing.

I'm guessing you have a few "pearls" to parlay along the way, so have at it!

Your audience is seated and awaiting your taking the podium.

  • Thanks for the input. I will definitely keep it in mind. I am very open to ideas from others and appreciate your taking the time to comment.

  • i've watched how you make the papercrete blocks on here and it really seems like a wet mixture, have you ever tried using a ceb brick press to see how they might turn out with one of those?very interesting videos too and look forward to watching more of them

  • Hopefully we'll get some more videos soon!

  • I am working on more short videos like this one. Was out there today moving my forms up and leveling them and pouring more papercrete. Wanted to shoot some video but it's so windy it overrides the sound. Maybe tomorrow.......

  • Looking forward to more.
