I don't think that this fear is all that irrational. I've always wondered myself whether or not it hurts since you basically die instantly. Sorry, really not trying to exacerbate things here. interesting. ;p

This is more common than you might think, it may be something that happened to you when you were young or the types of tv shows you watched. these things play a big part in our emotional lives later on.

Wow, this sounds like a serious psycholigcal problem and this person should talk to a professional. Maybe it's an anxiety disorder. It's really sad and I can relate to it unfortunately.
