Someone asked me to explain how I get multipliers so easily. I am answering their question to everyone here.

So, last week I figured out a new technique in Bejeweled Blitz. It's a technique that allows me to skillfully create essentially any gem I want on the board almost any time I want, provided the gems are already somewhat clustered together. Watch the video carefully enough and I challenge everyone out there to master what I call, the "Elite Technique". After learning the Elite Technique, you will never play Bejeweled Blitz the same way again!

Oh, and I have over 1,400,000 Coins because I never play with boosts. I actually just like collecting them. =) I would easily have over 1,000,000 points though if I did try playing with boosts...maybe I should give it a try...

Making a bonus multiplier fall requires the explosion of (I think) 12 gems in one switch to begin with, and roughly 16 gems for each multiplier after that... (depending). whether it's a chain of four colours that fall one after the other, or an explosion from a hypercube or powerful gem, it doesn't matter.

Claim: Moving as fast as you can and matching as fast as you can gets you a high score.
Fact: Not completely true.

You see, when gems are in constant movement, a bonus can not and will not fall if one recently just fell. It requires a stop in movements of blocks, and that includes even just the act of swapping them around, not just them blowing up or falling.

Another way I can explain it is this:

Not moving any blocks around causes you to start filling up your gas tank in your car. It only takes about half a second to fill up your gas tank when you're at empty. Thankfully you start out with a full tank of gas. The problem is, when you create a multiplier gem It instantly empties your gas tank to zero! If you keep driving on empty, in other words, keep matching gems and don't give the screen a rest, you will never fill up your tank of gas, and even if you clear the whole screen, a multiplier will never fall! Now if you let the gems set for about 0.5 seconds, you will be at full again, and the next switch that clears 16 or so gems will generate another multiplier, but low and behold, you're out of gas again. I have noticed though, and I'm not 100% certain about this next part, but it seems to be the case that when I fill up the tank by waiting only about 0.25 seconds instead of 0.5, I only fill the tank about half full, and when running on half a tank of gas, it requires more power to create a multiplier, like an explosion upwards of 24+ gems instead of just 16 or so.

The short of it is, to get multipliers as easily as possible, create a powerful gem, and match it. then once the multiplier falls, wait a split second, or about as long as you're willing to sacrifice for time, and then repeat the process!

If you want more proof that my strategy is true, do two things:

1. Watch a bot video someone put up. If you watch a computer AI go at it. Sometimes they will not even make it to 6x multipliers, even though they NEVER seem to stop matching!!! Doesn't that seem odd? If speed was everything, then they should be at 8x in no time at all, right?? Wrong!

2. Watch how I play again in both my videos, and watch to see when a multiplier falls. Between each multiplier that falls, you will notice I play with slight gaps between certain matches. I am letting my gas tank fill up strategically on certain moves, and not necessarily because I can't find a match.

Watch my 600,000 video, and you will see me having only played the game for 2 or 3 weeks. I am inexperienced and slow, and there are a lot of gaps.

Watch this latest Elite Technique 800,000 point video of me having played the game now for about 7 or 8 months. Notice how my gaps between matches are quite precise actually, and notice that as SOON as the maximum 8x multiplier falls, I go crazy-super-fast-non-stop-match-everything-in-the-world speed, because I know that the gas tank doesn't matter anymore because I'm at the highest level. That's when my true form comes out!!

1. Use strategy with special gems + pauses in matching to create multipliers as quickly as possible.
2. Now crank up the heat and match non-stop once you're at 8x.
3. Now master the Elite Technique and you will become unstoppable.

I have since retired from facebook BB as of the posting of this video on 5/12/10. If you practice everything I've mentioned above, I know that you will become a better BB player and a higher BB scorer than me. Achieve the best! Elite Technique forever!!

Dude I can see how this works.. but I have been trying it for some time now. And well I can't switch the gems fast enough. The first begins return to its original position before any others line up with it. Any tips.... or did pop patch this thing out?
