@wackypound I give you that only considering you also made the sequel set in the 80's. =))

@Mysterwright Mate.. that made no sense, as I just said; your looking into it too deeply. There can be no opinion about this, just obvious fact - LOM UK over LOM USA.
-
@wackypound Right, well I do understand charm and what not. That's beautiful. The problem is that its more tolerated in UK than USA. The reason USA shows so much rough stuff is because it is rough here. Those whom are undesirables overseas come here and take out their frustrations on the public here. Especially in working class and low income communities. That's all they can own property or act as realtor in. It wrongfully leaves a bad taste in our mouth for foreign exports. Everything is wrong.

@Mysterwright Mate, you looking into this too deeply: The reason why we Birts - or anyone else with good taste - think this is a load of shite compared to the British version, is simply because this is a load of shite compared to the British version.
There's no competition between the fantastic acting and writing in the UK's LOM, and whether you care to admit it or not, it's pretty clear that Americans don't get British humour which really gave the original it's spark!

I miss this show so much

Actually this series was brilliantly cast, its just too sad that the rest of the world doesn't know their history. 1973 was the year Bruce Lee died. Of course the UK would scoff because their interests were being affected then. The USA had just built the World Trade Center and went stratospheric in finance once they dropped the gold standard. You guys get angry any time someone shows emotion. How christian is that? Isn't it better to give than receive? So you lot must like receiving shite then.

It's a different Gene Hunt. You can't expect the two Gene Hunts to be exactly the same.

@jazzx251 I believe someone told me LOM BBC version only lasted two years, that's why I post my comment in the position of a question. Further, I heard so much about the BBC series, but have never seen it. I really loved the US version. However, my point is, that the BBC version would not have survived in the US. Over here, I do not know, but shows like that are not followed closely any longer. Too Sad.

Just some corrections here.
It didn't last "only two years" - both series had excellent ratings, but the writers decided to finish it while it was good.
They then wrote the sequel - three series of "Ashes to Ashes" - largely the same cast except set in the 80s with a new female lead. That show too successfully completed as the writers intended. (A brilliant ending to both shows incidentally)
Neither show was ever cancelled in the UK - which is why it is so brilliant.

Americans just don't get it.
