Something particular because this is the first time I upload one of my personal compositions on Youtube.
Actually, this is the first "finished" song I've been able to pull out from FL Studio (the most finished one in fact, other ones are mostly early WIPs that I dropped).
You'll notice the different background picture. This is because this isn't an "arrange". All my future compositions will have that picture in order to distinguish them from arranges and remixes (remixes will look like arranges but with a blue tone).
Made by using by the following VST instruments or audio tracks:
- 25xVOPM
- 3xRoland TR-909 drum samples
- 1xRoland R-8 drum samples
- 6xlayers
Note the incredibly high amount of VOPM tracks I used. This may probably be the highest number of VOPMs a human could have used in a project to this day (if you ever have an even higher number and your song sounds much better than this one, feel free to post an response to this video).
And this is one of the reasons I currently abandoned it. It was just simply too CPU-intensive (impossible to preview the song properly, even in 22KHz).
My main goal was to produce a sophisticated dance tune, only by using 4-operator FM synthesis.
I heard once a song made by a Japanese band called Harmonia (their website: http://harmonia-hp.com/ ). The song I took inspiration from is Saturation.
Indeed, this is still a very raw WIP and my song is by distances very far in terms of quality from Saturation.
It currently have no consistent structure or progression, some sounds are out of place (the lead at 2:00), it lacks variations in rhythm and the overall song turned out pretty repetitive, monotonous and boring.
Anyway, I think this still sounds impressive for an FM-only song and I consider it quite an achievement. I may finish it one day, once I'll have a more powerful machine (I plan to buy a dual-core laptop soon) and when inspiration will be with me again.
I'll finish by a little anecdote. I originally planned to make Miku Hatsune sing on this song. But for the moment and considering how the song turned out, this is impossible. :P (and who's gonna write lyrics for me anyway?)
Hope you'll enjoy.

Hey!
Very good! It seems like Enigma songs In Voyageur. I don't if you heard but it is very simmilar!

Thanks! But that was totally not intentional in fact. :P
Your remark is indeed pertinent as Micheal Cretu's works unconsciously influence me, too. Now that you've mentioned it, the song sounds more like "new age" than trance.

In all seriousness, this is amazing,I can't even get anything that I make with VOPM to sound half as good as this.Truly impressive stuff, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the encouragement (sorry for the late answer). It seems that my new laptop handles the song better than my old desktop PC. So, I may continue it if inspiration resurfaces again.
