Wisam is the lead instructor at Bayyinah for the Essentials of Tajweed; a sub-division of the Qur'anic Arabic track of study. Additionally, Wisam has developed Bayyinah's online Arabic Reading for Beginners course. He is by far one of the most creative and energetic instructors of the subject around. Students rave about the energy and enthusiasm in his courses and he has quickly become one of the most popular instructors at Bayyinah. He completed memorization of the Noble Quran by the age of 16 at the Islamic Institute of Education in Chicago, Illinois and went on to study the science of Tajweed formally with Sh. Ahmad Wafa'a in Cairo, Egypt. Upon his return to the United States, he taught the science of Tajweed, Islamic history and Hifz for 2 years. Thereafter his quest for Islamic knowledge lead him to Quran Academy in Lahore, Pakistan where he earned a Bachelors in Arabic & Islamic literature. Returning once again to the States, he dedicated himself to teaching a very successful and popular Tajweed & Hifz program in Long Island, New York. He developed a unique curriculum for letter recognition, writing and fluid reading, that upon execution, displayed remarkable results among young and old alike. His second area of concern became Tajweed instruction where again his innovative curriculum helped hundreds of students all over the US acquire an in-depth knowledge of the science in a relatively short amount of time. His recent studies include study intensives in Mecca and Madinah as well a return to Egypt where he not only attained his izajah in tajweed with Sh. Ali Anwar, but also enhanced his background in Arabic grammar under the instruction of Sh. Muhammad Helmi, from whom he received a shahada in the text of 'Ajroomiyah.

  • Mash a Allah

  • 1:30

  • @popcan4u its more of a keep your priorities in order reading arabic or learning arabic should be seen as an obligation. Also dont present yourself as a super knowledgable person and you dont read the Qur'an. but you should always give your brother the benefit of the doubt and dont over react

  • @popcan4u It's a joke, Akhi. Well I at least think it is.

  • Is this guy seriously arguing that if one cannot pronounce Arabic words that they shouldn't discuss the merits of the Quran vis a vis a certain idea? Give me a break. It's one thing to have an understanding of the Quran and another thing to be able to pronounce Arabic words. Most Muslims are Non Arabs. For people of certain linguistic backgrounds, it's hard to pronounce phonetics of a language that is not of their region. The Catholic Church made the same mistake and look what happened to it.

  • Our first need is the 'aqeedah even though we may not be able to pronounce alphabets in the right way inshaa-allaah we will study them but we will never compromise in the 'aqeedah. May Allaah guide all of us!

  • Subhaan Allaah
