Wouldn't mind petting one like at a conservation place but wouldn't want to own one. I live in TN and a guy in my online class has a owl. Don't know the info. behind it tho. Dollywood has a eagle conservation center and you can see them in a natural habitat. They are damaged like a wing or something where they can't survive in the wild anymore. I can't believe how huge Eagles are and I've seen some huge owls in a zoo didn't know they came that big! Interesting none the less.

If an owl is kept as a pet, it becomes completely dependent upon human. This is called imprinting. Imprinting can psychologically harm owls. Just keep the wild in the wild, dont mess with the balance of nature.

@ckapshuck can't make pets of them in the USA, if oyu have a license you can keep birds like owls, falcons and eagles. But it's not as pets.

Please stop making every living creature a pet. Seeing an animal interact with a human once in a while is nice. Maintain the novelty, do not create anymore pets.
