I felt that the Vietnam War could've won if the U.S got smarter. The U.S first thought the Vietnam War will be just like Korea. They were wrong. 1st of all, while the U.S knew who the North Korean leader Kim Il Sung is, they don't know who Ho Chi Minh is. While the U.S supported Korean liberation, they sided with France who want to control Vietnam. Where as in Korea there's anti-communist guerillas, communists guerillas such as the Vietcong was active in South Vietnam.

Large, not necessarily but guerilla warfare might not be necessary anymore for new bombs can pierce the old tunnels now which was one of the main saving factors to the Vietnamese force and most of the jungle is burned down as well so they kind of lost their advantage

my uncle and my grandpa were support gunners during the vietnam war DOWN with ho cinh minh!!! I can imagine myself looking far away with binoculars and see a burning communist base and the communist vietnamese flag is going down and i can see our old yellow flag slowly rise, nearly blocking our sun

So sad, if it weren't for Thieu's incompetence and the fact that Gerald Ford was soft on communism the Republic of Vietnam would exist today as a shining example of democracy in South East Asia.

kommie, we may be different in our beliefs and view points.
however I will not hate you for being different from me.
our parents and past generations were at war.
today we are the hope and aspirations for the future.
I don't have any hate in my heart towards anyone.
Hate was what lead to division, war, and lost loved ones we will not see ever again in this life.
