Health Care Reform: Chris Van Gorder of Scripps Health Offers Provider Perspective

As health care reform continues to take shape, Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder shares insights from the health care provider point of view. Van Gorder spoke with KUSI News in San Diego about the need for universal patient coverage and tort reform, as well as problems with a single-payer system in light of low government reimbursement rates for care. Last year, Medicare paid Scripps $137 million less than what it cost to provide care to this patient population.
