11 Mar 2008 Abu Dhabi - Dubai Highway Part 1

On the 11th of March 2008, I was with my friend Assim. We were chilling at a coffee shop called Dar El Hai in Abu Dhabi Khalidiah. It was 03:00 am when I asked him to join me for a trip to Dubai after the sun rise to finish some work there. I told him " The earlier we hit the road, the fastest we reach Dubai" . He suggested that we leave at 06:00 am because 5 am is too early.

When it was six we took the road on our misterious trip. "What if we got into an accident?" Assim said, I was not happy with his comment so I said: "What If you say something better than what're you saying now". We got off the Um Al Nar bridge and by the time we're getting close to Al Shahama City, the fog was blinding everyone. I couldn't see but 30 to 40 m ahead of me. I was driving by a 80 km/h with my windows roled down.

I saw some headers flashing me from the back, I wondered " What's wrong with that Jaguar owner? " he passed me with him waving me with a sign that I didn't get at the begining. So I looked at my dash board and noticed that my car lights are on auto switch and it didn't turn on, so I turned it on and also my fog lights too. Five minutes after that I saw ghousts waving at me, I slowed down fast hearing an egyption accient asking me to get off the road. I knew then that there's a pile a head of me.

Quick, I took the side of the road and stoped totally. Shouted at Assim to jump out of the car and followed him from the passenger door. I then heard the anger of the mital, the sound of the breaks and the smashing of the cars one by one. after 5 minutes that seemed like 5 hours, everything went hush. With the pile of the cars and its heat the fog was cleared, and what I saw made me hlod my NOKIA E90 and film my 17 minutes video that I've part it into 9 parts to share it with all of you.

This video was brodcasted on Abu Dhabi Television in Oloum El Dar News Show and upon it we had the exclusive interview with His Highness Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed in our studios to talk about that morning, The Tuesday Fog.

I am one of the Paramedic who responded on these horrible accident. Really it is a great horror for us when we saw the dead and injured. Always be careful when you're on the road..............

I've watched several videos here showing auto accidents in UAE, mostly in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It seems like there is a huge problem in UAE regarding traffic safety and if there is an ongoing problem, it needs to be addressed.
