I still fondly cling to the (admittedly far-fetched) notion that the Stig is actually James May and that "Captain Slow" is actually a really obvious diversion, so obvious that they thoguht no-one would believe it's actually him, purely because it's so obvious.
Ok so it has it's flaws, but that's my theory and i like it so there :P

It cant be James May, when they did the 24 hour Silverstone race the stig and May were both there racing. No way he can be the stig otherwise he would have done half of that race.

well yes, that was my other theory, that was perfect, like when james drove the zonda f roadster and veyron. if you watch the clip it gives it away, i guess but it makes you think its him
