We can't afford to have him captured. If he was water boarded he might give up his CIA handler.

I am not surprised. Our country voted for one of the biggest champions of the Patriot Act (that would be Obama for anyone who didn't research Obama's voting record during his brief stint at senator). Their arrogance is escalating as they continue to wipe their butts with the bill of rights. Gubmint shackles have been broken and "the people" have allowed it. And, the people continue to worship these politicians. I agree with you. It is tragic that they don't prefer prosecution.

@FeelFreeToArgue - Yes. I've read the same. Interestingly, the latest also shows that the pilots (sitting in cubicles in Nevada) of the drones suffer from PTSD more than ground troops do.

It's just like Julian Assange asked in his most recent interview. Does America abide by the rule of law or not? Of course he knew and we know that it was just a rhetorical question he asked to point out our blatant hypocrisy - there is no "rule of law" or due process, etc. in regards to American foreign policy. Which is what happens when you're the world's lone military super-super-power. Laws are a formality when you're the highest authority.

Can you say terminate with extreme prejudice ?
You need to read about Judge Roy Bean again.
It is all qui bono, as long as law enforcement makes money off the legal system
you'll see the system continue to exist. Assassination sets an ugly precedent
that others may decide to apply it to any leadership they dislike.
Too bad Alberto Gonzales wasn't around to use his answers....GRIN

They don't even bother covering it up anymore. People have become so softened and/or desensitized to all of the on-goings that this has all become just another day about. Freaky!
Peace my friend.

These guys don't even pretend any more. And no, you're not reading too much into it. It's as plain as day, for anybody who cares to see and hear.

@MiranUT Another point of concern is the perception of drone strikes by the enemy we are allegedly trying to win the hearts and minds of. The common perception (fairly accurate in my estimation) is that drone strikes are the actions of cowardly enemy which lacks the stomach for an honorable conflict on the field of battle. Factor in the large number of civilian casualties associated with these strikes, and a narrative of casual oppression is hard to avoid.

great post Zach...
It's so fundamental I can't even believe we're still talking about it.

@Capitalocracy I never cease to be amazed by what people don't care about. You listen to a Tea Party rally and you would think those people care deeply about their rights. Well, where are they?
