I am so glad that Desmond didn't dress like a clown, as quite a few jazzmen did in those days (including the awesome Cannonball and yes, Brubeck here).

YewMake MeSmiles, do you use a software package such as 'Transcribe'. I use it for transcribing bass lines and it really helps. Maybe you've already tried this. Good luck anyway

Mulligan played his best between 1965 and 1982, not that he wasn't great before and after. His ideas and technique were so well defined at that time and he just seemed to "go for it" more.
