  • Here's an idea>> you could simply extend the grey wire and connect it to a 2 way switch on your bars, then you would be able to select what ignition curve you needed depending on the terrain. just a thought

  • That would definately work, but I have found that once I did the mod I never wanted to switch back. My wifes WR didn't have the GW cut and mine did for a long time untill I got around to doing hers, so I got to ride them back to back a lot, and I must say that I don't see a reason to not do the mod.

  • Is it possible to make this mod on a 2003 WR450?

  • I am pretty sure you can. go to a web site called thumperfaq and it will tell you the info on your year

  • you can take the fuel tank off without compleatly taking the shrouds off u no

  • If i do this mod to my 2006 model, will it still be good for trails? or will the revs make it hard for me?

  • Thank you for the video, I plan on doing the mod on an 05 tomorrow. From the research I have read the reason the grey wire exists is to retard the timing in the mid range rpm's to help the bike pass sound tests. There should be no side effects other than a slightly louder exhaust note mid power. I post this info for those worried about bad side affects. also the grey wire only exists on WR250f's. If you have a different bike please look into the specific model you want to mod. Thanks again for

  • I have a 2008 wr 250f and I am unsure of doing the mods because I have never had any problems with the bike and it always starts when I need it to. I just want to know what problems could happen if I did all these, and what are the positives because I want more speed and power. My bike is stock and it will do 75mph

  • Hey man thank you so much, your video helped me out alot, i just did the mod on my 2005 wr250f... and it makes a lot of power difference.. it feels that the bike has more bottom end and it revs faster! thanks man!

  • Does this work for a 2004 rmz250. thx awesome vid

  • if you do this mod would it still be a good trail bike? could you still putt around on it?

  • how much of a difference did this make?

  • does it works on wr450f 2004 model......may bring up a problem?

  • you could put a switch there
