  • @Userduder, no matter how some want to attach a negative connotation to the word "protectionism", it doesn't work. Every country has their own forms of protectionism. Even unqualified Indians can get work in (or from) the U.S. with little effort. However, you will not see many talented U.S. citizens working in India, because India protects their own job market, so that their economy can grow, which is exactly one the main points of protectionism.

  • @JME1282, This has nothing to do with racism. People in a third world country should have a right to make money. However, that doesn't mean that they should have a right to American jobs. American jobs should be for U.S. citizens FIRST, then if there is any additional needs, then those jobs can be offered to overseas talent. That is the specific, written intent of the guest worker visa program, but Corporate America has been abusing the program for years by displacing talented, U.S. workers.

  • id fuck the blonde

  • so apparently only americans have a right to make products? i wonder if this is motivated by a hint of racism? are you saying people in the third world dont have the right to make money?

  • Fair trade is a European cliche which should not be defined in European terms here. So far in America fair trade is simply a euphamism of Conservative Protectionism, or quasi-protectionism. Duncan Hunter 2008, or Republicans lose.

  • Why do people always try to put definitions on free trade and fair trade? They should be synonomous and fair trade is simply getting back in return what you're giving to the country you're trading with which is what the whole idea of free trade was supposed to be about but they try and twist and make people think there's no govt. control in free trade. There's plenty of govt. control in free trade and the corporations are pulling the puppet strings.
