"Run and Tell That" Hairspray - Drum Cover

Hey gang. This is a departure from the videos I normally do. I've always been playing drums as long as I can remember (not well or anything obviously haha), and in the future, I have many projects in mind for the songs with me playing drums. So yesterday afternoon I had some free time so I rigged up my mic collection on my roommates kit to give it a try. This is basically just a test run to see what kind of drum sound I can get and to see if some of my projects are even possible.

I've heard "Run and Tell That" a few times, so I'm familiar with it, and it's a really sweet groovy tune, so I thought I'd try playing along with the track cause it's really fun haha. Keep in mind I've never played the tune before.

I decided to post it just to give you guys a preview at what I'm up to, and because I'm sure I look funny playing drums lol. Feel free to go to my channel and check out my videos of instruments I'm actually way more comfortable on!

For you gearheads out there, I used a Sennheiser MD421 for the kick, a SM57 for the snare, Apex 435 for the left overhead and my Neumann TLM 103 for the right. I mixed the sound with Logic Pro and the video with Final Cut.

sounds good...what kind of recording equipment are you using thats letting you play over the track with clear audio of hearing both the track and yourself?
