Gallbladder problems often occur in individuals with liver disease, especially those with cirrhosis. Today on the blog is a podcast from Johns Hopkins with Anthony Kalloo, M.D., director of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology discussing " the prevalence of pain after gallbladder surgery and an ongoing clinical study to evaluate the predictors and interventions in patients with Sphincter of Oddi (SOD) dysfunction."

My wife has had this for last 3 years after having her gallbladder removed because she was having constant gallbladder attacks with out stones. She is a young mother of the age 24 and it has been difficult, she is going for a ercp next week and we are really praying that it takes away her pain. Almost all of her relationships have been seriously damaged as they all think she is psychotic and needs drug recovery because the doctors are treating her with medications trying to manage the paint

Same here, MRI will only pick up stones bigger than 5mm,bile duct is only 4mm when normal. I had an endoscopy ultrasound nd confirmed no stones and the pain came back. today I got told I had SOD and will require my Sphincter cut so that the bile runs straight out and dosn't build up and send me to A&E again..
