When a house fire traps a family in their basement, a little girl knows what to do because of Rescue 911 episodes she saw dealing with fires. Also included in this clip are the 200 Lives Saved introduction and a letter from a fan whose daughter was saved after a lightning stike because her friend knew how to do CPR from watching Rescue 911. This segment was taken from the Rescue 911 special "200 Lives Saved" (Episode 507) which aired November 23, 1993 on CBS.

Seriously, this show's success was measured by something much more important than ratings-it actually saved lives. And they estimated that it probably saved not hundreds, but thousands. I learned so much from this show. They need to bring it back for a new generation of kids and  adults.

I think it was supposed to be a mid-season replacement in the 7th season. Networks sometimes try new shows in the fall, and then if those end up getting cancelled, they'll replace them in the second half of the season with other shows.
