Brian Canavan’s debut album YOU’RE AN ELECTRON I’M AN ELECTRON was launched in Oct 2008. Its songs tell of a relationship with a) women b) booze and c) quizzes to a soundtrack of pop-indie melodies, trumpets and flamenco guitars. Reviews of the album described it as “an absolute gem” (Alan Jacques) “inspiring, infectious pop” (The Star) and Hot Press said that “with so many solo stars in waiting it can often be hard to stand out from the crowd. Thankfully Brian Canavan manages to do that and more….a huge talent”. Rob O’Connor on Irish Beats listed it as one of the best albums of 2008.
Brian has appeared on TV on The Last Broadcast and Popscene on Channel 6. His first single Carol Vorderman Counting Me Down was Single of the Week on The Rick O’Shea Show, has over 20,000 hits on YOUTUBE and received airplay on Radio 1, The Ray D’Arcy Show, Spin 1038 and local radio throughout the country.
