Hello I was just wondering if you could tell me the best render settings for the xr100 when the clips are recorded in 16M (FH) AVCHD is a pain in the ass & i'm having a hard time figuring this out.

I have an Xr100. While recording it looks great but then when I transfer the mt2s files from the hard drive via drag and drop it seems as if the quality degrades. Then I use sony vegas and render it using XDCAM ex settings. The quality seems to be different. For example, when some one moves by even at normal speed there is a silouhette that forms or in other words lags. In this video even while the dog is shaking its leg you can see every single frame. While in mine it shows less...help

if you record in HD-FH you can NOT upload the video to youtube. (You actually can, but out of the 5 HD-FH videos I uploaded, all 5 failed to convert. I even tried a video that was like 20 seconds long). The title says HD-HQ. That is correct. HD-HQ makes a .m2ts file that youtube will let you upload, and then successfully convert. Vimeo will let you upload HD-FH (the highest quality) just fine. But with youtue, you need to convert the HD-FH to something else. Handbrake works great! Just google it

what settings did you use to export this in such good quality, and what program?

I have this same problem, i dont know what is wrong ...

Yeah that's what my settings are on and the video I uploaded doesn't have the 1080p option . . .
Is there anything special you do before you upload it on youtube or something?
I have the CX100 to, how do you make your videos have the 1080p option?
Mines doesn't and I recorded using the highest quality I believe . . .

Hey there, to get the best quality on your camera, you have to set the thing to HD. Select Home (House button) then select the toolbox on the far bottom right. Enter movie settings and then set the HD/SD quality to HD. After that, return to your main screen and tap the button on the far bottom right, Then again, which looks like a toolbox. Set your Rec mode to AVC HD 16M (FH). Be warned that this takes up a lot of space on your camera, and will take a long time to upload.

Actually, its the format and quality setting you save it as after editing the film.
I'm running a mac these days, so I can't remember what I had put it down as for Windows Movie Maker. Google up 'Uploading HD videos to youtube'. Or simply youtube it, i'm sure there are many videos to help you with this.
