i am from pakistan and its nice to see such appreciation for sitar, my country is enduring hard times and doesn't get credited with much anymore, but we have some hidden talents, especially in music, and im glad to see it being represented here. (pakistan, india, its one in the same, dont let ppl fool you into thinking the two are different and hate each other, only the ignorant from both sides fight, but all humanity is united under one brother/sisterhood).

im asking for a sitar for christmas. i am already a bass player and just under six feet tall, if that makes any difference. would you have any suggustions for what kind/size of sitar i should get, and how much i would need to spend to get a fairly decent sitar without going overboard? how hard is a sitar to learn?
