At age 4, Binh moved a garden hose and noticed that the lawn underneath had turned brown. Is that when he discovered his passion in photography? Binh is a San Francisco Bay Area artist who invented a unique process for developing images in the flesh of leaves via photosynthesis. He received his MFA from Stanford University in 2004 and has emerged as an artist of national importance with work that investigates his Vietnamese heritage and our collective memory of war, both in Viet Nam and Cambodia - work that, in his own words, deals with "mortality, memory, history, landscape, justice, evidence, and spirituality."
