  • just get 9 volt battery and take a coin and put the coin on the battery turns very hot right away

  • @yevgeniy714 thats a very bad idea!! don't ever do that, the battery could explode or poisonous gasses and acids could leak out!! DO NOT DO THAT!!!

  • Put some backflow diodes on that so the battery dose not leak acid

  • @bradenwandrey it doesn't heat up that much... :P and if u r done using it, u could always take out the batteries so the diodes aren't really needed :D but thanks for the tip anyways :D

  • well; thanks for the quick and informative reply... It's going to have a On/Off switch, my contraption. Would increasing the length of wire make it cooler or hotter? For this 'experiment'; the metal only has to get [Warm] Oh, how long do the batteries last? TNX

  • @josephocracy if you increase the length of the wire, then it should make it slightly cooler, and vise versa. For me the batteries lasted a good couple of weeks, using it about 15 minutes to an hour each day (I made this in the winter time). Also, make sure the on/off switch isn't too close to the wires so it won't overheat its system and internally break it. have fun! :D

  • @josephocracy anything will do, it is just to act as a base. however, by using a metal base, it could get really hot, so be aware! if it does get hot just unplug the batteries and use it until it cools down! good luck!

  • does it have to be balsa wood? because it's non conductive? I would like to warm up a piece of metal with AA batteries, so can I just wrap the wire around the metal?

  • @TonyMcDark Yeah, just watch out because it could get really hot. This is why a small one is best, but a big one will work, just be cautious. :) Good Luck!

  • I found 7 pieces of 2mm aluminum wire , is it posible to make a "bigger" heater?
