With "friends" like this guy, rodeo animals don't need enemies.

You Animal Rights activists are screwed up... you guys say we treat animals with cruelty and yet you guys say that rodeo people should die? you guys care about animals more than humans, thats screwed up.

But reading all these comments from these other people show otherwise. Just like with the Rodeo people, it is the few "bad" eggs that give bad reputations. Not every Rodeo has animal abuse in it.

BryanMegumiSawada: SHARK has been investigating rodeo animal abuse for over 16 years. We have not, as yet, been to a rodeo where there was not some level of abuse. The very nature of many events to gain the highest score for the contestants lends easily to the potential and actuality of abuse.

Rope should have been taken out of eyes... hands down bad on the cowboy's part. But jerking the rope off the horn was a lot more necessity than anger... when it gets good and wrapped it can be pretty hard to get off. it wouldn't surprise me if he was a bit upset though... he most certainly lost because of his poor work and as a result, he may not get to eat... these people are rarely "spoiled", they generally can barely survive.

true some people care more about animals than humans, like me. people have the choice to do what they want they can stop from being hit and abused. animals cant. and if animals die of abuse and neglect why dont the people who inflict it deserve the same?

@fadinreigne, isn't it obvious? Makes them easier to "punch". Mug, wrestle, whatever. From what I've seen, not a helluva lot of water is provided to these critters in the time before their wonderful fun. Less watery stressed diarrhea, I would guess. That cowboy and his horse (REALLY NICE HORSE!) looked well-fed. I'd hate to be that horse, though. Fits of temper often lead to the horse taking the blame.

Rodeos and bull fights will always be a contention for animal abuse. Yes, our cowboy was almost completely inept in his attemp to control his steer, yes he became creul in his frustration... all that is obvious.

But really look at the steer folks, you'll see an animal that is about 100-150 lbs underwieght. Why are they starving them?

I've been going to rodeos my whole life. What this guy did was very unnecessary and should have be dq'd.. but stop hatin cuz RODEO LIFE WILL MOVE ON!!!!!

You should come to Hawaii and see our rodeos here. We do not abuse our animals at our rodeos.
