These are two passenger hovercraft, the new and the old. The first hovercraft shown is the new, an AP1-88, the second hovercraft shown in the SRN6, this particular one is the oldest (Known) operating hovercraft in the world. Both of these hovercraft service(d) from the mainland England, to the Ilse of Weight.
The AP1-88 is deisel powered, hence the black cloud of smoke, and the SRN6 is powered by gas turbine, this is also the last gas turbine hovercraft running in the world, as well as the oldest.
Remember watching the SNR6 when they were operational. The noise that these beauties made was awesome. Somehow the more modern AP series don't seem to have the same tones. Maybe it's the diesel engines or the shrouds surrounding the props. Still, they are a sight to behold. Still love to stand and watch them even now.

thats awesome! it's good to see the 6's still running!! According to BHC, we had one of the last operational single prop SRN 6's ...045. They're great hovercraft!
we use 2 AP 188's now, a 100 and a 400 series.
