My hand built cannon...8 months total build time.
Video includes pics of construction process, video of test firings, and live firing.

Bore: .75 (3/4)
Max firing: 200 Grains blackpowder - firing packed lead ball (Pretty accurate for a smooth bore)
Carriage is built from Red Oak
Full size cannon in video,is a true 1861 Union field piece (carriage is a reproduction)still used for re-enactments.

The news clips at the begining : Right as I was finishing the build, two people here in Ohio were killed with a homemade cannon at a rally. Kinda makes ya think when you play with stuff like this. Leave me a message with comments or questions.

  • nice dude u r awesome i built a little canon on school but i can't find black powder or gun cotton kan u please help me? ps what can I use as projectile ? thanks for effort

  • @hgfjtdjhtd687369876 I use FFF blackpowder for both my cannon and Kentucky long rifle that I purchase at a local gun shop. I wrap the powder in tin foil shape it like a egg ram down the barrel, pierce the tinfoild with a punch at the touch hole and slide my fuse into it. For the cotton or "patch" I use either muzzle loader patches or cut and oil cotton cloth. For projectiles I have a mold I made or sometimes we shoot corn kernals at targets like you would in a shotgun match

  • Beautiful work of art. Very pretty. I was quite impressed w/ the fine finish and realism of it all and the report didn't sound half bad. Well done.
