It's fun, in its own way.

Until you start getting into the later stages, when Banpresto starts tossing little surprises at you. Then it becomes rage face inducing.

is there any way to actually select witch weapon you are using in manual mode.or the computer just decides according to distance?

I think this game is terrific. Sure, the first game was err... bad, really bad. But the second game was a really good sequel. Even though the graphic was inferior to ACE series, many things that was just 'dream' in the first game become reality. Such as flying, space mission, transformable unit, change getter, Impulse's change equipment, Godannar's combine and even fight along side Macross/battle ship!

And let's not forget about Manual Mode! Manual Mode give you chance to control the Mazinger Z!
