Tras la manifestación del viernes 17 de octubre de 2008 que tuvo como objetivo aclamar y defender el libre acceso y distribución de datos por los usuarios, de forma gratuita y pudiendo modificar y añadir nuevos archivos al sistema, se realizó una misa simbólica en la que los asistentes parodiaban pertenecer a una religión basada en los ideales anteriormente citados y la adoración de root.
