"From the viewpoint of absolute truth, what we feel and experience in our ordinary daily life is all delusion. Of all the various delusions, the sense of discrimination between oneself and others is the worst form, as it creates nothing but unpleasant." - His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Tashi Dhondup, 30, issued an album in October called "Torture without wounds" containing lyrics that "express his pain over the situation in Tibet," the group said.

One song also calls for the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader, to be allowed to return to China.

Beijing - Police detained a popular Tibetan singer after he released an album containing lyrics that were deemed political, the Washington-based International Campaign for Tibet said on Wednesday. Tibetan exiles told the group that police arrested Tashi Dhondup last week at a restaurant in Xining, the capital of China's Qinghai province, a traditionally Tibetan area on the northern half of the Tibetan plateau.
