An interesting technique I invented for binding a sparkler. A good simple firework for the backyard pyrotechnic. Building fireworks is legal federally, but be sure to check your local laws before constructing any firework.

The composition used in this video:

Potassium Nitrate - 6
Granular Magnesium - 4
Charcoal - 1

It is possible that course aluminum could be substituted for the Mg. Many other compositions are also able to be bound with this method.

@samshady3 No, you will need to start with an ungranulated powder. It is best not to build fireworks if you don't know every detail about the components and chemicals you're using. You can't know every detail if you did not make the composition yourself.

@Nighthawkinlight Do you get your magnesium from skylighter? They are the only place that won't ship magnesium powder. Every other place I shop for chems and pyro goods will ship it no problems, and not mixed with turnings.

@HomesteadScientific I buy mine directly from a personal contact. I no longer pay attention to who ships it or not. If you know of a supplier that ships within the US, some of my viewers might like to hear about it though.

@Nighthawkinlight Sorry, I meant did you get it but americanpyrosupply sells -325 mesh magnesium and a lot of other pyro chems and they all ship.
