Did you know Dessie was nearly put down in his first ever race as a 5 year old at Kempton in a novice hurdle..he fell at the last and was down for 15 minutes...they were about to put him down and he jumped up...incredible dont you reckon...the rest is history!!!!

Like mighty Arkle before him, exposed to top class handicaps carrying lumps of weight. No horse since Dessie has repeatedly applied his trade in graded races & also top class handicaps.
When on song, as he was in arguably the best quality renewal of the top class handicap, the Racing Post Chase, Dessie showed his amazing ability conceding between, a massive 28 & 35 lb to all his rivals & crushing them, including a future Grand National winner & a future Grade One placed horse.
